MY  STORY

MY GOLFING STORY

1994

Michael went to the golfcourse with his grandfather for the very first time when he was about 3 years of age. When he was 4, his grandfather gave him a plastic golfclub which he used as a putter to roll balls through the house.

1997

He joined the youth of Haghof G&CC near Welzheim in Germany and took his first golfing lessons when he was 6 years old.

1999

After a few years he played in the youth team of his Golfclub and became the youngest member of the regional county team.

(D2/D3 Baden-Württemberg)

After a period of time Michael developed to a 12 Handicapper and his team from Haghof G&CC won the youth-team-championship of his county in 2004. Michael also played his first Round under Par in the Age of 13.

2006

He participated in the German County Ryder Cup U16 and his county won in a great final. In the same year, Michael was leading in the German Amateur U14 Championship after 27holes and finished overall 25th.

2007-2010

Michael won the Regional Championship and has also won against the U16 English Amateur Champion at the British Boys Championship in a matchplay.

2010-2012

Michael won the Club Championship in Golfclub Haghof with a 3-shot-lead.

With a Handycap of +1,6 he decided to join Golfclub Mannheim to play in the first Golf League, the '1.Bundesliga' in Germany.

Later he was ranked as a top 3 Player in his Team and they finished 4th Place in the  German Golf Leaque in 2011, 2012, 2013

2012

In the end of the 2012-season he had several finishes in international amateur events and a handicap of +3,3.

2013

After a great start in the season and the 14th Place at the Balearish Championship at Mallorca, Michael wasn't really able to play a lot. Anyway he finished 10th at the regionals, 4th in the Turkish Amateur, 8th in the German Championship Quali and 11th in the German Championship. He played the European Tour Q-School and with -2 after 4 Rounds he couldn't manage to make the first qualifying Stage.

He shot 3 course records and came back to a Handicap of +3,4 with a 7 under Par in his last tournament as an amateur. (Age 22)

2014

Michael turned PRO.

He played on the Pro Golf Tour in middle Europe and tried to gain a Challenge Tour Card. He had an up and down season and experienced all kind of things. Illness, travel and the tour lifestyle in a camping car.

Michael finished in the mid 80th position in the total ranking. Despite his first professional year he was very active in the team sport. He made the most points for his team in the ,,final four'', the final tournament of the first german golf league.

His Team finished first and Michael is now ,,German Team Champion 2014''

2015

Michael had another year on the Pro Golf Tour, he was not very happy with his game at all and went back to his old coach. He went down in total rankings of the Pro Golf Tour to 91st position and also did not reach the second qualifying stage of the European Tour.

Again he was very active in team sports. He made 2,5 out of four points for his team in the 'final four', the final tournament of the first german golf league.

The Team finished third and Michael is now ,,3. Placed Team in Germany 2015''

2016

Michael will play another year on the Pro Golf Tour, starting the season in Marocco. As an A1 Member of the European Tour he participated in one Challenge Tour event. He was also playing the Qualifying School as there was no more Chance to Qualify through Pro Golf Tour.

2017

Michael has played mainly on the Pro Golf Tour and the a few tournaments on the Ecco Tour. It was a great learning year as he was changing the swing and was mainly focussing on surrounding a professional team around him. The year was not about playing for status, nor scoring well. It was all about becoming better in the future of his career. In the end of the year, the statistics exploded and he also was very successful on a Challenge Tour tournament in Ireland. The game came together, but it just wasn't enough for the Qualifying School to move on to a different level.

2018

After Michael played a few events on the Pro Golf Tour, he mainly devoted his time to golf training in order to avoid expensive tournament trips and to improve his golf even further in the long term.

With his Golfteam GLC Haghof, he moved up another league (Regional Middle League). With a terrific round of 66 strokes, Michael helped his team just about to win the league by a single shot. Michael also took part in the qualifying school of the Alps Tour and secured a spot in the 2019 starting field.

2019

After he had obtained his starting authorization for the Alps Tour, it was not possible to play the tour due to financial reasons. Michael had no choice but to continue to practice his game.

Parallel to his golf career, Michael starts studying sports economics and heads GolfKultur Stuttgart in management. With his Golfteam GLC Haghof, he held the league with his team and was the best player in the league group (Regional Middle League)

2020

This was a special year for golf as the corona pandemic caused a worldwide golf boom. Unfortunately, there were hardly any professional tournaments this year, so Michael mainly took care of his golf-students and his studies in sports economics, saving money for a potential restart of the golfing career.

2021

With the ongoing pandemic, Michael mainly took care of his golf-students and his studies in sports economics, saving money for a potential restart for his golfing career.
Nevertheless, Michael played in the German Golf League and helped his Team GLC Haghof to keep the league relegation.

2022

With the ongoing pandemic, Michael will mainly take care of his golf-students and his studies in sports economics, saving money for a potential restart of his golfing career. Nevertheless, Michael will play in the German Golf League to help his Team GLC Haghof moving up to the second division. Michael is currently coaching at GC Neckartal e.V.

2023

After successfully graduating from the University, Michael will continue his education with the PGA of Germany and is ready to achieve the highest graduation. In addition, he will continue to be available for training at the Neckartal e.V. Stuttgart located golfcourse and will take part in a number of tournaments in the German Golf League, the PGA and various Pro Tours. Through his playful expertise, Michael also learns how to bring better lessons to the students. Michael has led his team GLC Haghof successfully into the Second DGL League of Germany.
